It might say beach. It might say Fifth Avenue.
Either way, the aqua blue wedding (often paired with the most classic of supporting acts, like silver, pearls and creamy roses) is a feast for the imagination ... and the eyes.
Pulling off Your Own Aqua Blue Wedding

Plenty of aqua brides stick to their beloved blue, offset with lots of crisp
white and crystal. But many brides accent with more colors. Popular uptown picks include
chocolate brown, platinum and soft pastel
pink. Beachier combinations include orange, fuchsia or
yellow. Fearless brides even pair aqua with red!
This look offers so many choices, you just need to lay claim to yours. Decide whether to "spread the wealth" with faux pearls and seashells, or swarovski crystals and platinum accents, or seashells or giant white ostrich feathers — or some other direction that's all your own.
Aqua Blue and Crystal
If you're a crystal bride, you'll sparkle in a gown with a bodice lightly embroidered with Swarovski crystals, and tuck a crystal
tiara in your updo.
Then, thrill your bridesmaids with crystal hair pins or combs. Plus, place glimmering picks in your floral bouquet, or skip the blooms and bear an all-Swarovski heirloom crystal bouquet down the aisle.
Having a tent wedding? Line the marquee roof with string lights, hang clear crystal chandeliers from the center, and prop up more crystal in the form of grand candelabras topping Corinthian columns.
Then, look into the new pintucked linens with subtle metallic thread, and draw on crystal-studded placecard frames to guide your guests to their seats. Top off your cake with another tiara, circling a sweet dome of cream-colored roses.
Aqua and Platinum

Imagine crisp white roses peeking out of silver trumpet vases. Sleek silver candlesticks keep the look going, with delicate white
rose petals scattered at the base. A silver
monogram sets off the top of your cake.
Brushed silver frames announce each table number and guest seat.
Guests tuck into a delectable meal over silver chargers, after oohing and ahhing over the miniature gift box that graced their plate. While you finished up with your photos, they'd enjoyed a signature cocktail made with Blue Curacao and a jigger of pineapple juice, gussied up even more with a bright blue sugar rim.
Your gifts to your bridesmaids? Sterling-silver pendants ... and timeless silver cufflinks for the guys.
Aqua Hits the Beach
Aqua's a favorite color of beach-bound brides everywhere. Don't be afraid to pair aqua with eye-popping colors like fuchsia or coral, aubergine or pale yellow. For flowers, start with white or fuchsia orchids and super-fluffy peonies. Want to go a little wilder? How about coral roses and Pincushion Proteas, or fuchsia gloriosas.
Aqua Goes to Paris
Take this flamboyant theme (perfect for bridal showers, too) for a spin by arranging giant ostrich feathers in tall Eiffel vases and scattering marabou feathers plus rose petals down your tables. The perfect boutonnière: a white rose, a few marabou feathers and a shiny aqua ribbon.
Très chic!
More Aqua Tips for Any Bride
A classic treatment of aqua calls for a classic flower. It's easy to lose your heart to roses in white, blush or even peach. For an elegant centerpiece, go for paveed roses arranged side-by-side in aqua wooden boxes. Or place simple posies of white and blush roses in square glass cylinders, tying them off with a blue satin ribbon.
A white and aqua candy buffet also makes a stylish statement. Try silver Hershey's kisses, blue Jordan almonds, and white amorini and conversation hearts.
Aqua Attire
David's Bridal has made suiting up for aqua easy (look for "
Pool"). Popular combos for bridesmaids (again!) include ivory, pink and chocolate brown in some combination with aqua.
It bears repeating, though: aqua can be overpowering in large doses, unless you lighten it up with a splash of white. The white crinolines shown above are one gorgeous way of breaking up the color block of your bridesmaids' gowns.
Another option: confine aqua to smaller canvases, like sashes, vests, or table overlays.
Speaking of vests, the guys will look sharp in black tuxes with aqua blue ties. Look into those chocolate brown tuxedos too, which make a visually eye-popping match for chocolate brown/aqua blue bridesmaids.

July 4th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Lisa: I am going back to try to find the LOVE TRAYS. I picked them up off of a web-site and lovrd the idea too. I am sure I found them by googling “tiffany blue wedding.” I am happy to help though - will go back and post what I find.
Tiffany: The tiffany bags came from IOffer web-site and the seller is Style Bonanza. They are .50 cents each - 5″x6″. I have lots of them and still don’t know what I am putting in them. What will you use them for - favors, etc.??
Danielle: Can you describe the candles with the ribbon and rhinestones -exactly what I want. July 12th is sooo soon - GOOD LUCK!
Shamika: The “blood red roses” are exquisite. This is the color red that I am coordinating with my tiffany blue, platinum, and white. You always have great suggestions.
I have been stressing as I am having to make financial decisions about vendors and the like. I swear if I have one more deposit I am going to scream - just kidding, but is alot.
I want to keep things as tight budgeted as I can and everytime I think that I have found something at a wholesale price - it is either poor quality or more expensive that I thought it would be.
We have confirmed our date at our church, reserved the reception site, almost confirmed at caterer, talked to a host of photographers, settled with the DJ - whose was to send his contract one week ago - we still don’t have it, settled on the wedding party, I have tried on 1.2 million dresses (found a stunner), and on and on. I know this is nothing short of what you ALL have done, but I need some help now -
submersible lights - in TB - where to find them
centerpiece ideas - reception in tent with rounds
what should favors be?
what can I do with the bags - they are super cute - must use them

July 2nd, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Pam -
Thank you so much for your help.. I will definitely check out that website.
Well my color is the alfred angelo Pool color which is very different from the davids bridal pool color. So i am having a very hard time finding things. I have been having to send samples to companies, which some haven’t been able to match exactly but are very close.
July 2nd, 2008 at 12:10 pm
tara, hi..Pam again…i ordered colored samples and they came pretty quick. I ordered aqua and turquoise just to compare it to everything else i had. The turquoise looks super dark from looking at it on the computer but aqua seemed too light when i received the sample. Depends on if you’re looking for more of a green or blue tone but the turquoise worked best for me.
July 2nd, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Hi Tara, You may be able to find some at brightsettings.com or click on the link….
www.wholesale-table-linens.com/table-linens-polyester.html?Category=Basic_Polyester_Solids&FinishedGoods=Square#Anchor

Lucy,
So I think either the first or third arrangement would be beautiful for any wedding. Roses evoke romance and love (in my opinion). However, if you are going for a more modern/clean lines look, then the second centerpiece would look nice. Good luck and congrats.
I absolutely love roses!

I love the bridesmaid dresses from the 40’s wedding. Has anyone been able to track them down?
June 26th, 2008 at 1:44 am
Hi Lisa,
I had a flower girl and Jr. Bridesmaids as well as older bridesmaids for my wedding, and I’m not sure if there is really a “rule” about age for attendants. I know there are several million books out there that talk about wedding traditions and etiquette, but I think that nowadays, it’s really up to you. You might want to think about how the girls will feel. Is an eleven-twelve year old girl going to want to throw petals? When I had my wedding my husband’s little half-sister was eleven, and her and a cousin (who was the same age) were both Jr. Bridesmaids. My husband’s other half sister (who was six at the time) was the flower girl, and my two sisters were each at high school level, and they were the bridesmaids. Needless to say instead of having a bachelorette party, I had a slumber party.
In my opinion, if they are eleven they are considered a “tween” and should be a Jr. Bridesmaid, no longer flower girl stage. Ten or under I think it would still be okay. I also haven’t heard about any rules with how many you can have. My sister is going to have both of my daughters as her flower girls, and no ring bearer. I know that in Europe they sometimes have half a dozen little flower girls and ring bearers, as well as little girls or boys to carry the bride’s long train. It’s all up to you. If you have six little girls who you would like to have as flower girls, go for it. It’s your wedding. Just think about how many petals that would be for you to walk through!

Hi Shon,
When is your wedding? What colors have you choosen? When you go to the webiste go to design center, then coordinate linen, click on bridal, then you have to scroll to the right by clicking on the arrow. You should see a TB color which you can click on and then it will show you that color on the big square which is supposed to be your table. Then you can click on napkins, chair covers, and sashes. I only wish it would show you how it would look on a table. Hope this helps!
June 25th, 2008 at 6:45 pm

June 24th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
I forgot to add to my last post that I am having an outside wedding, it’s like a garden lawn type setting.
I also found a place that perfectly matched tiffany blue chair covers, saches and table linens including napkins. You have to rent them and they charge 4.25 each which includes that chair cover and sash. This is the cheapest I have found on the internet. Their website is: www.bbjlinen.com/Site/home.cfm
They have a design gallery where you can see all the colors together. Hope this helps
If anyone has Tiffany blue chair covers that they would like to rent or sell PLEASE let me know!
June 24th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Hi Ercia thanks for the info. My friend at work actually found me a rental place in my area where the rent columns. I emailed them today so hopefully I hear from them soon. Hi Again Toni,
Forgot to tell you, I checked Ebay also, and typed in”aqua flower girl dress” and it pulled up a bunch that were similar to the Target one, you should check it out. They are all under $40.00 each.
June 24th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Hi Toni,
I found the flower girl dresses on target.com by typing in “aqua wedding”, and it pulled up all the aqua stuff they had including that dress. I just checked again, and you’re right they’re gone. Probably sold out. Bummer.
June 24th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Hi Ava,
The boxes are 179.00 for 100 -that includes the ribbon and a personalized tag on each, but if you need just the box, I can lower the price to 149.00 for 100.
These are 3.5″ square by 2″ tall. If you need another size let me know and I’ll see what I can get. There are larger one’s that I can get in also.
June 24th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Viola how much are the boxes you show in the last post you did. I am interested in them for my invites which are stand up type?
June 24th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Pink & blue, can you do it without sliding into that dreaded ’80s territory? I think this California bride pulled it off.
Her wedding’s primarily pink and ivory, and she writes she was going for a ’40s feel. Those beautiful, soft cottage flowers are everywhere — peonies, rununculous, sweet peas — and the gown has stunning lacework and a gently vintage feel, which is definitely echoed in the textural work on the cake. The tulle swags and low centerpieces support that antique look as well. (BTW, the black and white framed photos around the cake … REALLY nice.) One of the three centerpieces is an oversized martini glass (hi, deco inspiration) filled with more cottage flowers.
So the main punch of blue here is the bridesmaids’ gowns. And wow, those are kind of unexpected, huh? I think the brightness of the aqua is what help makes this work and gets it out of Princess Di territory and into Deco. Plus, I love it when people make unconventional choices (40’s wedding / screaming aqua? It works.) There’s a tiny bit more aqua: the favors are aqua ribbon tied gift-style on white favor boxes. Check out everything here, this is a really satifying browse.
June 24th, 2008 at 11:15 am
Toni: I have seen the glasses at Old Time Pottery - if you have one in your area. Hobby Lobby might be good. Any kind of candle or glass outlet store would also be good check out.
Toya: I, too, want the Roman Columns at my ceremony. I have found a decorator that owns them. I am meeting with him on 6/28 - and can let you know how the pricing works. There is a picture further down that features column and touille. See also the comments made regarding the columns and touille below.
I picked up the new edition of Brides magazine and Impressions has some beautiful “new” bridesmaids gowns. The true TB color in their line is SEAMIST. Check it out.
Have a Good Day!

Hi Lisa,
I found the aqua shoes at payless.com for the heels. The flip flops were from another website, the one beach pair were from wedglitz.com, and the personalized ones were from morgan-company.com. That’s where I found them. I’m not sure if they are still there, or all sold out, but I just saw them at those sites a couple of days ago. The payless turquoise heels were listed under “dress shoes” or sandals. I found them by doing a search in google under “aqua flip flops” for the one set, and under payless search for the others.
Oops! Sorry, I forgot to tell you the prices. The turquoise heel pumps were $35.00 from payless.com, and the turquoise heel strappy pumps were $17.99 from payless.com.
The others I don’t remember the price, but I do know the personalized flip flops were more expensive than the “just married” beach pair. I think the beach pair was around $15.00.

Hi Connie, I was trying to find the aqua shoes you had posted, but i was unable to find them. i think it would be cute if i had aqua shoes. Please help. Thanks
June 22nd, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Thanks Erika. I was happy with the way it all came together.
Connie,
You are correct. I live in LA, but got married in Northern California on a Christmas Tree Farm. www.littlebearcreektreefarm.com It was beautiful. From the pics that people have sent me it was a really nice background for the wedding. All the wedding guests were really impressed with the location and all the TB detail too.
Look forward to hearing from you.
June 22nd, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Hi again Erika,
I think the tulle pillars with the blue, and lights would look good at the church as long as you don’t overdo it. Too much tulle tends to look very 1980’s tacky. I have seen several weddings with the archway and the tulle though, and those came out pretty. But again, you need moderation, and simplicity in the design in order for it to work. Maybe not so many pillars, and string the lights a different way. Or take the lights out all together, and have candles instead if the church would allow it. I thought it was a different idea, that came out looking cute, and that’s why I posted it. Glad it helped for inspiration!
June 22nd, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Hi Mindi,
The blue program idea was a gem idea I found from a “realweddings” type of blog site. I think it may have even been Brides.com. But they didn’t give the intructions, they just showed the pic of what the other couple did, and put together for their ceremony. However, they don’t really look difficult. You would need to go to a craft store and buy the ribbon, hole punch, and various shades of blue cardstock. (Along with a paper slicer). You just cut the papers at verrying lengths, (after pre-printing from the computer). Then punch them all together at the top, and tie with the ribbon. It turns out to make a “verigated” type of look with the diffirent shades of blue, and the guests can flip through the program at their leisure. My sister and her fiance, will have thier wedding outside, so they are opting to make program fans instead, but I still thought that was an awesome idea. You could even use it at the reception for the menu.
June 22nd, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Hi Erika,
For the transportation my sister would want to hire a classic car if she needed it, but they are getting married at his uncle’s estate home in Ojai, California. His uncle has a bunch of land, and they will be married and have the recpetion in the back yard. So they don’t really need transportation. But it would be cool to hire a classic car, or have a friend who owns a classic car to drive them .
June 22nd, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Hi Jackie,
I would be interested in the sashes. I’ll email you for the prices and deatils. Where did you get married? I looks beautiful, but it doesn’t look like anywhere in LA. I live in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County. I would be willing to drive down to where you are and pick them up, if the price is good. I love how you put the centerpiece flowers inside a tiffany looking box. I also love the tiffany colored ribbons hanging from the bouquet. I’ll be in touch. Thanks for the great pics!

Also looking for aqua bridesmaid dresses for a beach wedding. I need something semi formal and shorter. Looking forward to your suggestions!

I forgot that I also have different types and sizes of TB ribbon. Here are a couple of pics of the organza sash and what I did with the TB ribbon.
June 21st, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Elizabeth C. and anyone else interested:
I just got married May 25th. It all went so well. ( I will post some pics once I get the CD from my photographer. ) I have lotsof TB stuff and some sparkle left over…TB napkins, TB organza sashes, TB chiffon sashes, TB nested boxes, TB cardstock, diamonte buckles, diamond confetti, 8″ bubble bowls, 10″ square mirrors, and submersible accent lights. I also have lots of ideas to share.
I live in the LA area if anyone is close and wants to check it out. If anyone is interested in buying any of it email me: moose416@yahoo.com. I much rather have someone that lives in the area too buy it so they can just pick it up and I don’t have to deal with shipping all that stuff out to different places.
However, whatever I don’t sell locally, I will be putting it on ebay. I’ll keep everyone posted. If you’re really interested, but don’t live locally email me and maybe we can work something out.

What is everyone doing for wedding transportation?
June 20th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
Elizabeth C: The flowers in my Tiffany Bag were mini roses. They are artificial and came from Michael’s Craft Store.
You All have been super busy with posts lately. It is good to see all the wonderful information.
Mindi: What a SPECTACULAR wedding site. Where are you getting married?
The idea of using the feathers at the aquarium is HOT! I think that will work wonderfully.
Any Tiffany and Silver/Platinum ideas or pictures? How about with Red hints.
I like Connie’s post with the pillars and touille. Does anyone think it would look okay at the church for the ceremony?

thanks I had seen those but that would be like over a hunderd dolars a table I was hoping to get them for a cheaper price. we are having a each wedding in myrtle beach next year and our reception is going to at the ripleys aquarium so the feathers would be really neat. we are only going to have about 5 tables worth of people since we live in Indiana and most won’t make the trip so I can afford to spend a little more per centerpice but not over $100.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Another good idea for Ebay is to ask the seller if they will set up a listing in their store just for you (a private listing) for just what you need. I do that all the time for buyers.

Mindi, SaveOnCrafts has nice big ones for $4.99 each right now, in white, pale pink and BRIGHT eyeball-popping turquoise — about 20-28″ — not bad, look here and scroll halfway down the page:
http://www.save-on-…lytes4.html
It does look like you can get them much cheaper on eBay sometimes tho. (ebay tip sent to subscribers)

Hi Sarah Anne, a few more pics for you.
Check out Snippet & Ink’s Turquoise Opulence board — very damask-y, traditionally elegant … great eye candy!
Then, check out Flowers By Megan’s work for an outdoors aqua blue & black wedding with lots of fresh daisy goodness:
Finally, here’s a sort of deco-ish San Diego black/tiff/white wedding with some good shots of tables in between quite a few shots of guests … it’s hard to see, but the bridesmaids have black sashes, which looks quite nice …
I don’t see anything here not to love! Hope that helps!
June 19th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Mindi I like the Blue and Black but not with white. I think the white throws off the colors. Do you know where the chair shashes were bought from from this particular wedding? I really like them and I am looking for some currently. Thanks.

Yes Lisa I live here in Houston. I didn’t want to spend more than $50.00 on the glasses but I need 8 of them so it’s impossible. I already have some round flat fish bowls that I might end up using instead. Here is a picture of what I invisioned.

Yes Lisa I live here in Houston. I looked at places like Garden Ridge but never thought to go to Arnie’s. I will definately go this weekend. I actually already have some bases and what I wanted to do was somethign like the picture I attached. I think I am going with the round fish bowls instead because I have so many of them and I don’t want to spend more money.

Hi!
I thought the last pic was a great idea for the guest’s bathroom. It has all the essentials they would normally go around asking for if they needed them and had forgotten to bring. I’m going to make up a basket for the guest bathroom for my sister’s wedding.

Hi Ladies!
Wow! A lot of posts since I last checked the site!
For Lucy:
My sister hasn’t found a bakery that will do the cupcakes yet. She is planning on having friends do most of the tasks at the wedding including photography, flowers, set-up, and take -down, having the garden wedding in her husband to-bes uncles house etc. So I’m pretty sure she is having a friend make the cupcakes too. You can always get your local supermarket bakery to make regular round cupcakes like they would do for a special order birthday party, with the aqua tinted frosting, and then add a little decoration onto the top of each cupcake the day of setting up. I’ve seen them with all kinds of decoration such as initials, charms, sprinkles, little flowers, jewels, candy hearts, or anything that would personalize your cakes to your tastes and/or go with the other decor. Usually you can find these little things in bulk at the craft stores.
Tyra:
Either my sister’s intended, or my husband will be making the cupcake stand. The ones online are so expensive it’s kind of a joke, and you would need several to hold about 150 cupcakes which is how many people my sister is planning on inviting. The guys can go to the hardware store, buy the precut large round wooden plywood disks, and then attach them together with a thick wooden dowel running through the middle of each disk. Both or guys are good with power tools, so this will be an easy fun project for them. It will also be a snap for me to then take them and cover with fabric, or lace, or pretty silver foil paper to make the stand more fancy.
Samantha:
You are welcome! I hope everything works out to be exactly as you had hoped.
Sara:
My sister found the dresses she likes in Aqua from Kohls.com they were actually $41.70 each. Marked down from $69.50 each. They are a shorter length dress in the aqua color, and the brand is (Chaps Sateen Square Neck Dress). If you look at them under “dresses” you can find them. On Clearance now, so if that is what you are looking for you should think about ordering them soon. They also have pretty dresses shown on David’s Bridal.com under the search “pool”. Which is the color that best matched the tiffany blue, or aqua blue that is so popular right now. You could also opt to tie choco sashes around the waist or do choco little jackets over the dresses. I’m pretty sure you can opt for those special touches in the colors you need. You could also do the other way around with the choco dresses, and pool sashes. Most of the dresses you could pair with what they call a Bolero jacket and or the long satin gloves in several different colors. You could also do a “create your look” type of simulation where you piece different lengths and styles for the tops and bottoms of each dress, and then any accessories you want to see how they would all look together. It’s also called “make and match separates”. They have these available for the taffeta tops and bottoms. I checked it out the other day, and it was really helpful on their site. for you the colors that would probably work would be either pool with the truffle (chocolate) accents, or the latte which is a lighter brown. Bridesmaid dresses in each style are available in: #4456, #F12256, F12899, #F11606, and the bolero jacket comes in all three colors. The style number is #F41972 Hope this helps!

Hi All,
I came across this website while looking for ideas for a 75th birthday party for my mother in law. She loves the color blue, and she loves jewelry, so that’s how I came up with the color theme. Do you think it’s okay to use this theme for a 75th birthday? I have b een married for 15 years…… and after looking at all of your pictures and reading your posts, I want to get married again. Didn;t have a lot of money the first time so my wedding was very basic. I hope you don’t mind me looking in for some ideas, and if I come across anything you are looking for, I can let you know!

June 18th, 2008 at 11:41 am
Hi Jolene, We were looking at it right now. He really likes it. We found the martini glasses at arnies. I think its an sawesome idea. I’ll let you know what happens..
June 18th, 2008 at 10:37 am
Erika what kind of flowers are those inside the bag that are peach. I am using the Tiffany Blue and I am using peach flowers but I have no idea what flowers are peach. I need names so I can sent them to my wedding coordinator who is in Mexico. They have a limited number of flowers so I am having a hard time. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.
June 17th, 2008 at 8:32 am
Hi Lisa!
Those Martini glasses were a big hit with the guests…. and didn’t break the bank! Our guests with allergies really appreciated a “non-floral” centerpiece. Do you think you’ll be using that idea since your future husband likes it too? I found aqua stones in Michaels crafts store, (although the picture isn’t capturing the color perfectly). Here are a few more photos of my bouquet with the aqua touches on my dress, and also our wedding cake. Planning all of it really was so much fun and well worth the outcome…. I almost wish I could do it again!….
June 16th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
Jolene I love your ideas. Theyre great! My fiance loves your martini glass center piece. Hes mention that a couple of times. Thanks for your help!

Hi Connie,
I posted the picture of that cupcake cake a little bit ago.it’s also the inspiration for my cake. I ordered the stand for to go on and it cost me a fortune. It also took me a long time to find somebody to make the cake. I can ask my baker Clara w/ Clara’s Designer Cakes here in MD if she can recommend someone in the NY area for you. She know a lot of people.
